Cardiff Bus mobile app comes out on top in recent report
The Cardiff Bus mobile app has been ranked amongst the highest scoring in a recent report released by Bus Users UK.
In a review carried out on the accessibility of Welsh Bus apps, the Cardiff Bus app received an overall score of 99%, ahead of Arriva Wales, First Cymru, and Stagecoach in South Wales.
The report has been released in response to the rise in use of technology to assist passengers in planning their journeys. Under the Equalities Act 2010, mobile apps must be accessible and provide all users with equal access to services.
It highlighted strengths within the app including logical layout, options to organise the app and the colours used to enhance accessibility and usability as well as live journey times, the ability to track buses, purchase mobile tickets, and even plan the best route to access local events.
Alongside this it also features an events and destinations guide which recommends fun activities and days out that can be easily reached by bus.
Gareth Stevens, Commercial Director of Cardiff Bus, said: “We are extremely proud to have received such a high score for our mobile app.
“We are dedicated to ensuring our services are accessible to everyone, and we worked hard to create an app that would provide our customers with all the information they may need, buy tickets, and plan safe and convenient journeys.
“Off the back of this report, we will continue our work to provide our customers with the best possible and most accessible services.”
