What is an iff card?
iff card is your personal travel card that you can use on all of our buses. You can either
- add credit to buy tickets when you want
- buy and top-up a weekly, monthly or annual ticket
- sign up for our Direct Debit scheme
Buying tickets & topping up your iff card
- Only weekly tickets can be added to your iff card by the driver on the bus - remember to tell the driver which ticket you want to purchase before putting your card on the machine
- You can also set up a Direct Debit payment so that your iff card will never run-out, as long as you maintain the commitment. Click here for more information about the Direct Debit scheme

Barry fare zone - for travel within Barry, Dinas Powys, Sully and Wenvoe
Plus - for travel across our entire network, including to and from Newport

Important Update: Changes to the iff Card
Our existing iff card is available through a legacy system that will soon be withdrawn. As a result, we are no longer accepting new applications for the iff card.
To continue enjoying great value travel, we recommend switching to one of our modern alternatives:
- Cardiff Bus app – Buy tickets and manage travel easily on your phone.
- Contactless payments – Tap on / Tap off with your contactless bank card and benefit from daily capping.
Coming soon:
We’ll also be introducing contactless weekly and monthly capping, offering even more flexible and affordable travel – replacing the need for the iff card altogether.
